What you can count on

  • Built before you payYou see a working version of your site on your phone first.
  • Price shown up frontTwo options, both on this page.
  • You own your domain and Google listingBoth stay in your name.
  • Live within 7 days of your photos and sign-offOnce you say yes.

What you get

A proper website, built around your work

The same six things come with both options. It is built for one business, yours, from what you have already put out there.

  • Built from your own photos and reviews

Your real jobs and your customers' own words. No stock photos, nothing made up.

  • Made for phones first

Built for the small screen, then stretched to fit a laptop. Call and text stay in reach of a thumb.

  • Google and AI-search setup

Page titles, business details and FAQs set out so Google and AI tools can read what you do and where.

  • Help with your Google Business Profile

I help you set it up and get it verified. You verify it, and it stays yours.

  • Your domain connected

Your own web address, hooked up to the site. It is yours to pay, usually $20 to $40 a year.

  • Yours to keep and take with you

When you leave, your files go with you, ready to move to another host. On a plan, that applies after the first 12 months.

How it works

I build it first. You decide.

Most web jobs start with a quote and a leap of faith. This one starts with a working version of your site you can scroll through on your own phone. If it is not for you, you don't pay a cent.

This website's Prices section on a phone, showing Own it at $1,490 once.
This site on a phone. Yours is built the same way, for your business.

  2. One link, no price

I send you a private link. No price in the first message.

  3. You look on your phone

Want it? Send your photos and sign off, and it is live within 7 days.

  4. Pick how you pay

Own it for $1,490 once, or On a plan for $500 to start, then $49 a month (12-month minimum, $1,088 in the first year).

After launch

Care and Grow, in plain words

A website is a bit like a seedling. Care is the watering can that keeps it healthy. Grow is the regular work on your Google listing that helps it along.

Grow is free for the first 6 months on both options. After that, it only carries on at $149 a month if you say yes.

Care

$49 a month

Small jobs that keep the site right.

  • Hosting
  • Small edits, up to 30 minutes a month: photos, prices, hours, text
  • Your site kept up to date and working
  • Cancel with 30 days' notice (after the minimum term on a plan) and take your files

Anything over 30 minutes is quoted up front.

Grow

$149 a month

Everything in Care, plus regular work on your Google listing.

  • Everything in Care
  • 2 Google Business posts a month
  • A review link and QR card for your customers
  • Every quarter: screenshots of what Google and ChatGPT say about you
  • A one-page monthly report

The posts need you to add me as a Manager on your Google Business Profile. You stay the Owner. The review link asks for an honest review, and nothing is ever offered in exchange.

The first year

What to expect, month by month

I tell everyone this up front, so nobody expects the phone to ring the day the site goes live.

  1. Months 1 to 2

    Roots

Site live, Google listing verified, and you start asking customers for reviews. Not much change in calls yet.

  2. Months 3 to 4

    First shoots

This is when you may start to show up in more local map results and AI answers.

  3. Month 6 on

    Growth

Reviews and fresh content build on each other, month after month. On Grow, the quarterly screenshots show what has changed.

An expectation, not a guarantee. It depends on your trade, your area and how many reviews you collect.

How you will see it: with Grow, screenshots every quarter of what Google and ChatGPT say about you.

One person, one phone number

Who you're dealing with

I'm Josh, and I build these myself

Waylight Web Design is my one-person web design business in Walloon QLD. I build websites for local trades around Ipswich, Rosewood, the Lockyer Valley, the Scenic Rim and Somerset, and I fit the work around a day job.

I hire local trades myself, so I know what a busy owner needs from a website: what you do, where you go, and a number that gets answered.

I build with modern tools, AI included, and I check every page myself before it reaches you.

This is a new business. Building your site first is how I earn your trust. You judge the work, not a sales pitch.

Where others win: Owners Club is cheaper upfront and faster, live in 24 hours, with a 7-day money-back guarantee. Lovely Pixel's one-pager starts lower, from $590, its 5 to 8 page brochure site starts at the same $1,490 as Own it, and Lovely Pixel builds suburb pages, which suits trades that work across many towns. From the second year, On a plan costs $588 a year with hosting included. Owners Club's optional plan is $348 a year, with hosting of about $120 to $180 a year on top (their FAQ, derived).

Based on each business's public pricing and trade pages. Not a claim about what any business can or cannot do. My first-year figures leave out your domain, usually $20 to $40 a year; other businesses' domain costs are not shown here. Derived figures multiply the advertised monthly price by 12.

Questions

Fair questions, straight answers

Do I pay anything to see my site?

No. I build your site first and send you a private link to look at on your phone. You only pay if you want it to go live: $1,490 once for Own it, or On a plan for $500 to start, then $49 a month (12-month minimum, $1,088 in the first year).

What is the difference between Own it and On a plan?

You get the same site either way. Own it is $1,490 once, and hosting and small edits are optional at $49 a month. On a plan is $500 to start, then $49 a month with a 12-month minimum, and hosting and small edits are included from day one. That comes to $1,088 in the first year.

What happens if I want to leave?

On Own it, you can leave any time and take your files. If you're on Care, give 30 days' notice. On a plan, leaving early means paying out the remaining months of the first 12. After that, you can leave any time and your files go with you.

Do you guarantee I will show up on Google or ChatGPT?

No. Nobody can honestly promise rankings or results, so I don't. What I do is set the site up so Google and AI tools can read your business: page titles, your services, your area and clear answers to common questions. With Grow, you get screenshots every quarter of what Google and ChatGPT say about you, so you can see what has changed.

Who owns my domain and Google listing?

You do. Your domain is in your name and you pay for it, usually $20 to $40 a year. You set up and verify your Google Business Profile, with my help, and you stay its Owner.

What do you need from me?

A yes, a handful of your own job photos, and a few minutes to read the site and sign it off. Once I have those, it goes live within 7 days. If you choose Grow, you also add me as a Manager on your Google Business Profile so I can post for you. You stay the Owner.

What does Grow do, and what happens after the free 6 months?

Grow is $149 a month. It includes everything in Care. On top of that you get 2 Google Business posts a month, a review link and QR card for your customers, quarterly screenshots of what Google and ChatGPT say about you, and a one-page monthly report. It is free for the first 6 months on both options. After that, it only carries on at $149 a month if you say yes. If you don't, on a plan you stay on $49 a month. On Own it you can choose Care at $49 a month, or stop and take your files.

Who builds it, and do you use AI?

I do. I'm Josh, based in Walloon. I build with modern tools, AI included, and I check every page myself before it reaches you.

Do you charge GST?

No. I'm not registered for GST, so no GST is charged. All prices are in Australian dollars.
